The Consortium For Street Children Kenya was established in response to the growing need for a unified, strategic approach to address the plight of street-connected children across the country. Its genesis lies in a series of dialogues and collaborations among community-based organizations (CBOs), faith-based organizations (FBOs), and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that recognized the fragmented and often under-resourced nature of interventions targeting street children.
Formally registered in 2018, the Consortium was founded with a core mission: to consolidate, coordinate, and collaborate with key players and stakeholders working in the street children space. By bringing together diverse actors under one national platform, the Consortium aims to eliminate duplication of efforts, enhance impact, and advocate for systemic change in policies and practices affecting street-connected children.
Central to its mandate is the capacity building of grassroots organizations—empowering CBOs, FBOs, and NGOs with the training, tools, and systems needed to deliver more effective services. In addition, the Consortium serves as a strategic conduit for mobilizing and channelling resources, including funding opportunities, to its members, ensuring sustainable and scalable solutions to reintegration, rehabilitation, and protection of street children.
Through this unified platform, the Consortium For Street Children Kenya envisions a future where every child is safe, nurtured, and given a fair opportunity to thrive beyond the streets.
A society where every child is protected, empowered, and free from life on the streets, through ethical, transparent, and accountable action that champions child rights, advocacy, and public sensitization.
To unite and empower organizations to speak with one voice in protecting street-connected children, promoting regulatory reforms, and advancing coordinated, mission-driven interventions that restore dignity, opportunity, and lasting change.
